GFA hosts training workshop for referees on enhanced safety and security protocols on February 20, 2025

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) will host a training workshop for Ghana Premier League (GPL), Access Bank Division One League, and Malta Guinness Women's Premier League referees today, Thursday, February 20, 2025.

The training is aimed at educating referees on the enhanced Matchday Safety and Security Protocols.

After the workshop, referees will walk away with an enriched understanding of their roles and responsibilities in implementing said safety protocols.

The workshop will also provide a platform for facilitators and participants to discuss best practices for implementing the approved protocols.

The Enhanced Matchday Safety and Security Protocols 2025, was recently approved by the GFA, fashioned to improve stadium safety and protecting stakeholders.

Safety for all stakeholders of the game of football has become a top conversation about the stabbing to death amid violence during a February 12 match between Asante Kotoko SC and Nsoatreman FC.

The workshop recognises referees play a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation of safety protocols.
