The Member of Parliament for Ashaiman Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Ernest Norgbey, has reiterated the National Democratic Congress (NDC's) commitment to transforming the constituency, with a strong emphasis on youth development and infrastructure improvements.

During an inspection of the ongoing AstroTurf project at Roman Park, Mr Norgbey highlighted the need for modern sports facilities to nurture young football talents.

He noted that Ashaiman has produced renowned players like Awudu Issaka, Abu Iddrisu, and Thomas Partey, yet the constituency lacks a standard AstroTurf to support budding footballers.

He further revealed that the AstroTurf was initiated under the previous NDC government but stalled under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.

Now, with the NDC back in power, he pledged to complete two AstroTurf projects to provide young players with a professional training platform.

Mr . Norgbey also visited the site of an ongoing dialysis unit project at the Ashaiman Municipal Hospital, which was requested by hospital authorities to enhance healthcare services in the area.

Speaking on the project, Alhaji Mohammed Awal Jibrilu Agbeshi, Secretary of the Ashaiman Footballers and Oldies Association, praised the initiative, emphasizing that a well-equipped sports facility is essential for grooming future stars.

Similarly, Dr. Mrs. Mavis Amoako, Medical Superintendent of the Ashaiman Municipal Hospital, underscored the importance of the dialysis unit, stating that it would significantly improve treatment for patients with kidney-related conditions.

The projects underscore the NDC’s commitment to infrastructure and youth empowerment, ensuring better opportunities for sports and healthcare development in Ashaiman.
