NDC seeks support from CSOs, groups for forensic audit of voter roll
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reiterated calls for an independent audit of the 2024 voters’ register, citing significant doubts regarding the Electoral Commission's (EC) ability to ensure a credible and secure registration process.
This demand was articulated by Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, the NDC’s Director of Elections and IT, during a meeting with civil society organisations and other stakeholders, where the party shared its critical observations on the current register.
“It’s not just a matter of fixing the errors but also the vulnerabilities inherent in the register,” Dr. Boamah stated on Monday, 3 September 2024.
He expressed that the party has lost trust in the EC, raising alarm over its credibility and reliability as fundamental issues affecting the electoral process.
The NDC's call for an independent audit underscores a broader concern regarding the integrity of the upcoming elections, stressing the urgent need for reforms to restore public confidence in the electoral system.
