Kwame Owusu Danso appeals to youth: We cannot accept the status quo
In a fiery address to Ghana’s youth, Mr Kwame Owusu Danso, the Vice-presidential candidate of the Afrafranto Alliance, has called for a rejection of the status quo, urging young Ghanaians to take control of their future.
"We cannot continue to accept leaders who put their interests ahead of the well-being of the very people who place them in service," he declared.
"We cannot remain cursed for all of our natural endowments.
We cannot continue to suffer this canker of Galamsey which threatens our very existence."
Mr Kwame Owusu Danso painted a vivid picture of the challenges Ghana's youth face, from unemployment to a failing economy while speaking at his unveiling in Accra.
He expressed solidarity with the thousands of graduates who are leaving universities without job opportunities, calling it a betrayal of the nation’s future.
"Today, basic commodities such as food and fuel have become luxuries for many households," he said, attributing this hardship to years of economic mismanagement.
Mr Owusu Danso warned that the youth cannot afford to remain, passive spectators, while the country’s future is jeopardized.
He urged young Ghanaians to rally behind the Movement for Change and Alan Kyerematen’s Great Transformational Plan, which promises to provide jobs, promote industrialization, and create an economy that works for all.
Mr Owusu Danso closed by saying, "This is not the Ghana we deserve. It’s time to rise and be counted. Our future is at stake, and only we, the youth, can secure it."
