Reject financial inducements, false promises; vote based on principles – Islamic Mission Women's Wing Gen. Secretary to Ghanaians
The General Secretary of the Women's Wing of the Islamic Mission Secretariat, Mariam Nketia Suleman, has called on Ghanaians, particularly Muslims, to refrain from being swayed by financial inducements and false promises during the upcoming December elections.
Speaking at the 26th National Conference of the Women's Wing in Kumasi, Ms. Suleman emphasised the importance of voting based on principles rather than personal gains or corruption.
In her address, she urged voters to reject any attempts at manipulation, stressing that elections should be conducted peacefully.
She cautioned against being used as instruments of violence and division, highlighting the tragic outcomes of past elections that have resulted in loss of life.
Ms. Suleman highlighted the need for Muslims to reflect on peace as a fundamental aspect of their faith. She encouraged them to become advocates for peace, justice, and truth, reminding them to uphold unity and integrity in their voting choices.
She also urged individuals to be peacemakers and to avoid engaging in divisive actions during the December polls.
