The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has raised concerns about President Akufo-Addo's reference to a lawsuit challenging the legitimacy of the Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill, also known as the anti-gay bill, in his speech on Monday, March 4.

Mr Gyamfi questioned how the President could have known about the lawsuit when it was filed only on March 5, around 1 pm.

Mr Gyamfi further questioned why the President would claim that a lawsuit had been filed in the Supreme Court when he knew it to be false.

He suggested that this legal action might be an NPP-sponsored maneuver intended to provide an excuse for the President to refuse to assent to the bill.

In a Facebook post, Mr Gyamfi accused the NPP of pretending to support the anti-LGBTQI bill publicly while betraying the Christian community, Muslim community, Traditional authorities, and Ghanaians at large behind the scenes.

He specifically targeted President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and the entire NPP for allegedly disregarding the values of the nation and jeopardizing the future of Ghana's children.
