Covid, Russia-Ukraine war: Pentecost Church suffers decline in offering, tithes
The Church of Pentecost seems to be counting its loss over the sharp decline in offerings and tithes as a result of the Russia-Ukraine war and the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to a letter dated August 1, 2022, from the headquarters of the church with reference number COP/CO/vol-40/0199/22 signed by Apostle Eric Nyamekye and addressed to the Area Head of the church at Downtown Ofaakor in the Greater Accra Region with the headline: ‘Tithes and Offerings Performance –January to June 2022’ tithes and offerings in the mentioned church has declined.
According to the church, tithes and offering according to the Finance Department at the headquarters shows that Downtown Ofaakor Area, for the first half of the year (January to June 2022), was unable to meet its budget.
The budget for the first half of the year was GHS3,188,529 but the area recorded GHS2,780,537 with a variance of GHS407,992.
