Dr. Dickson Adomako Kissi, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for the Anyaa-Sowutuom Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, has highlighted the potential advantages of Energy Minister Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh's straight-talking character for the party.
This comes as the NPP's National Executive Committee considers endorsing Dr. Prempeh popularly known as Napo as the running mate for the December 7 elections.
Dr. Adomako Kissi emphasized that Dr. Prempeh's straightforwardness could be a significant asset for the NPP.
"Straight-talkers and truthful individuals in the country will view this as a plus," he stated.
He acknowledged that while some Ghanaians may dislike bluntness, it could be beneficial in a running mate.
Discussing the presentation of Dr. Prempeh as Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s running mate on Class 91.3 FM's morning show hosted by Kwame Dwomoh Agyemang on Thursday, June 27, 2024, Dr. Adomako Kissi argued, "For once, we will have a running mate who boldly speaks the truth. A running mate who is candid about issues will be a plus."
He praised Dr. Prempeh's bluntness and noted that voter preferences are evolving, with more voters now preferring a vocal Vice President to a mute Vice President.
Dr. Adomako Kissi also compared Dr. Prempeh to the failed NPP Presidential Candidate and Member of Parliament for the Assin North Constituency in the Central Region, Ken Agyapong, suggesting that Dr. Prempeh shares certain characteristics with Mr Agyapong, who has significant traction within the party.
