Stonebwoy has noted his latest album, Up & Runnin6, was not created and released for the sake of a Grammy nomination or award.

The 13-track long play (LP) was released on Thursday, October 24, 2024. The Afro-Dancehall originator's 6th installment, it comes a year and six months after his commercially-successful album 5th Dimension.

Stonebwoy recognised the significance of a Grammy award but said it was not his focus for the record.

"Really and truly God knows my heart… If it does happen to qualify and win, it will be part of the things that will speed up my art and craft but then it is not my sole intention that I am creating this album for the Grammys else if it doesn’t win then I think that I will be doing a lot of disservice to the people who are beyond award schemes; the fans, the loved ones and those who relate to the music for their personal life," the multiple award-winning singer-songwriter said.

Popularly called 1Gad, the Def Jam Recordings star and Burniton Music Group (BMG) founder and CEO stressed, "I do not really do music targeting an award scheme. It is good when you qualify, etc., but I don’t think it makes sense to think that I am doing this particular album for the Grammys."

However, “if it does qualify for all the features that I have done, of course we must receive it because it’s worth it,” Stonebwoy clarified.

Stonebwoy is the Artiste of the Year 2024 at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards and 3Music Awards.
