Mr Drew 'feels' no difference between being signed and being independent
Mr Drew has compared being a record label signee to being independent.
He told Zeal Nana Kweku Bliss navigating the music business as an independent act was “not difficult – not at all”.
They spoke on Class 91.3 FM’s Class Xtra.
“It’s not tough. It feels like when I was on the [record] label. Same thing. I’m doing the same stuff, nothing has changed,” he explained.
“All I was doing while signed to a label is what I’m doing now.”
The seriel hitmaker recently left record producer and church leader Kaywa's Highly Spiritual record company.
The music star did not renew his contract with Highly Spiritual after his contract ended.
Saying, as an indie act, he was doing the same things he used to do while he was an employee under a label raises questions about the scope of Highly Spiritual's responsibilties towards him while he was with them.
