I felt suicidal in my marriage – Afia Schwarzenegger
Ghanaian Socialite, Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa, popularly known as Afia Schwarzenegger has disclosed that she felt suicidal in her failed marriage to Lawrence Abrokwa.
Speaking in an interview with actress, Joselyn Dumah on the 'Keeping It Real Show', she noted that she felt suicidal in her marriage and at a point wanted to poison her husband and kill herself as well.
“I wanted to kill that guy [ex husband] and kill myself. I told my mother, I called his brother and I told his brother if you people want to force us, especially me, into this suicide you call marriage, I’m going to poison your brother to die and I’ll poison myself.
“I'll not go to jail for killing him but I’ll also not kill myself for him to live and claim ownership over my property. That’s how frustrated I was, sometimes, after work when I get to my gate, I’ll sit in my car for more than two hours if no one comes out to see the car is parked there or see me on the video com, it was difficult going in there because I don’t know what I’m going to meet - his mood, is he happy, is he sad?” Afia Schwarzenegger said.
The socialite who also revealed that she used to go to work in an Uber while her "ex-unemployed husband" rode in her car to the gym advised women not to drown themselves in toxic marriages.
“Women should leave this death trap, it’s an insult to you as a woman. Ghanaians would have woken up to hear I had committed suicide and would have wondered if I looked like someone who had any worries to even commit suicide. This marriage made me suicidal, I bought DDT into my house...this dude could tell me he was doing me a favour by marrying me,” she lamented.
