Dennis Miracle Aboagye mocks Mahama's plan for creative arts TV station
Mr Dennis Miracle Aboagye, the Director of Communications for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s 2024 presidential campaign, has ridiculed former President John Mahama's proposal to establish a television station for creative arts players.
In a post on his Facebook wall dated November 13, Mr Aboagye contrasted the approaches of the two political figures, suggesting that Dr. Bawumia’s plan is more forward-thinking and accessible.
He wrote, “Simple decision making for creative art players: Dr. Bawumia: Mobile App (convenience, unrestricted access); John Mahama: TV Station.”
Mr Aboagye’s comment implies that Dr. Bawumia’s use of mobile technology, which offers greater convenience and unrestricted access to content, is a more progressive solution compared to Mahama’s idea of a traditional TV station.
The remark comes amid a growing political discourse about how best to support the creative arts industry in Ghana.
This critique follows Mahama’s announcement to create a dedicated television station for creative arts professionals in a meeting of creative arts players in the Ashanti region, a move he said would enhance opportunities for players in the sector.
