President John Dramani Mahama has charged Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Iddie Adams, to restore Ghana to its pride of place in Africa and world sports.
During the swearing-in of 17 ministers of state, President Mahama bemoaned the problems Ghana's sports has faced in the past few years.
"The Honourable kofi Iddie Adams, you have the monumental task of restoring Ghana to its pride of place in African and world sports.
The shambles that Ghana sports are in today are completely unacceptable for a country with our pedigree, and I expected that you inject transparency, professionalism, and modernity into the management of the sector.
I expect that you will concentrate on building up all the sports disciplines, and I know that the Ghana Football Association will be a good place to start to work to make sure we return Black Starts to its glorious days."
Black stars failed to qualify for the next AfCON in Morroco.
Now, the attention is on the World Cup qualifiers with six games to go.
Ghana will play Chad at home on March 17th 2025, and Madagascar away on March 25th 2025.
