Ghana, Liberia faceoff in friendly encounter today
Today, the Black Stars are set to face the Lone Stars of Liberia in an international friendly match at the Accra Sports Stadium.
A total of 25 players have been in camp and undergoing training in Accra in preparation for this game.
This friendly match comes in the wake of the Black Stars' successful qualification for the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Ivory Coast in January next year.
The match against Liberia serves as part of Ghana's preparations for upcoming international friendly games against Mexico and the United States of America, as well as the commencement of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in November.
Notably, Liberia did not secure qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations, finishing third in a group that included strong African teams such as Morocco and South Africa.
For Ghana, this match marks their return to the Accra Sports Stadium for the first time since March 28, 2021, when they defeated Sao-Tome and Principe with a score of 3-1, securing their 9th consecutive Africa Cup of Nations.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 4 pm on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, promising an exciting encounter for football fans.
