Sefwi Akontombra constituents hail NPP’s development agenda, pledge support in upcoming elections
Constituents of Sefwi Akontombra in the Western North Region have praised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as a beacon of development, urging Ghanaians to renew the party’s mandate in the upcoming general elections. This show of support came during a campaign tour by Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the NPP’s running mate, affectionately known as "Napo."
Dr. Prempeh has been touring the Western Region to share the NPP’s message of hope and rally voters to support the party in the December 7 elections.
Dr. Prempeh's tour covered several key constituencies, including Bibiani-Anhwiaso Bekwai, Sefwi Wiawso, Bia East and West, Sefwi Juaboso, Suaman, Aowin, Bodi, and concluded in Sefwi Akontombra.
Chiefs and residents across these areas commended the NPP's substantial contributions to local development, especially in Sefwi Akontombra, which they view as a testament to the party’s commitment.
Since the NPP won the seat from the NDC in 2016, residents say they have witnessed firsthand the impact of the party's achievements and are determined to vote emphatically for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the presidential election.
In his address to the chiefs and residents of Bopa and Nsawura, Dr. Prempeh expressed gratitude for their steadfast support and highlighted the NPP’s development record.
He specifically urged constituents to re-elect Mr Alex Tetteh, the Member of Parliament for Sefwi Akontombra, whose initiatives, including a new community centre in Nsawura, have boosted the NPP’s appeal in the area. Dr. Prempeh also encouraged constituents to compare the NPP’s achievements with those of other parties, emphasizing that a truly people-centred government is defined by tangible improvements in the lives of ordinary citizens.
Party activists and local chiefs applauded Mr. Alex Tetteh for making the NPP attractive not only to loyalists but also to floating voters in the region.
Mr Tetteh expressed optimism about retaining the Akontombra seat, promising to work to "break the 8" and continue transformative projects for his constituents.
The Western North Regional Minister, Mr. Rockey Joojo Obeng, and Dr. Kwaku Afiriyie also spoke, reinforcing the message of development and urging continued support for the NPP’s vision for the region and the nation.
