PNP youth wing applauds President Mahama for creation of new Youth Ministry
The Youth Wing of the People’s National Party (PNP) has commended President John Dramani Mahama for his decision to establish a dedicated Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment to focus exclusively on addressing challenges faced by Ghanaian youth.
In a statement signed by PNP National Youth Organiser, Muniru Mohammed, the party described the initiative as a progressive step towards implementing sustainable solutions to youth-related issues.
The Youth Wing also congratulated the newly appointed Minister of Youth Development and Empowerment, lauding his track record as a dedicated advocate for youth-focused policies.
They expressed confidence in his ability to drive policies that will positively impact young people across the country.
However, the group urged the minister to ensure inclusivity, cautioning against politicizing the ministry in favour of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“We urge him to lead a ministry that serves all Ghanaian youth, regardless of political affiliations.
Ghana can only be built on a solid foundation when the youth unite to prioritize job creation over job-seeking and embrace a nationalistic spirit that fosters inclusivity and national development,” the statement read.
The PNP Youth Wing further pledged its full support and cooperation with institutions and initiatives aimed at empowering young people.
“We stand ready to collaborate on strategies that will transform the lives of young Ghanaians and position them as active contributors to national development.”
The statement concluded with a call for the new ministry to champion the hopes and aspirations of all Ghanaian youth while reaffirming the PNP’s commitment to youth empowerment.
