Our track record are superior to that of my opponent - Bawumia to NPP faithful

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has assured party members that their track record in governance is far superior to that of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its leader, John Dramani Mahama.

Speaking at the party’s manifesto launch in the Western Region on Sunday, August 18, Dr. Bawumia encouraged NPP supporters to have confidence in the party’s achievements as they campaign for victory in the 2024 elections.

He underscored the NPP administration’s notable achievements in areas such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, and digital transformation. Key initiatives like the Free Senior High School policy, the One District One Factory initiative, and the digitalisation of public services were cited as examples of the NPP’s commitment to improving the lives of Ghanaians.

Dr. Bawumia emphasized that these accomplishments highlight the party’s superior governance in comparison to the opposition.

He also pointed to the NPP's handling of the economy during global crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and rising inflation, as a demonstration of the party’s resilience and ability to steer the country through challenging times.

Despite the economic difficulties, the NPP government, he noted, has continued to implement policies aimed at alleviating hardship and promoting recovery.

In contrast, he criticised the opposition NDC for failing to fulfill promises made while in office, particularly in dealing with issues like power shortages and economic instability, problems which the NPP has since addressed.

He encouraged NPP members to highlight these achievements as they engage with voters ahead of the upcoming elections.

Dr. Bawumia concluded by calling for unity and dedication within the party as they prepare for the 2024 elections, urging all members to remain focused and committed to securing victory for the NPP.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, if there was any doubt, I believe it is crystal clear from the data-backed account we have given that our overall performance and track record are superior to that of my opponent and his party in virtually every sector! But, I believe as a former president and a proud student of history, he knows that and that is one part of the reason why he is avoiding a debate."

"The other part, of course, is about the courage and confidence to put what he intends to do differently this time around with the power he seeks, side by side with the vision I have for Ghana and the clear roadmap to getting the work done. That is the choice we are presenting to , you, the Ghanaian voter on December 7."
