Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed confidence in the party's chances of winning the upcoming December 7 election, stating that victory ultimately rests in God’s hands.

Speaking to chiefs and party supporters at Anum Apapam in the Ayensuano Constituency, during his campaign tour of the Eastern Region, Dr. Prempeh emphasized that the NPP’s track record of delivering on its promises would inspire Ghanaians to retain the party in power in 2024.

Addressing the gathering, he highlighted several key achievements of the NPP, including the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) programme, stable electricity supply, school construction, and the ambitious Agenda 111 initiative aimed at improving healthcare infrastructure.

He praised the people of Ayensuano, noting their resolve to safeguard these gains by voting for the NPP's Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Dr. Prempeh also known as Napo expressed confidence that Dr. Bawumia would lead Ghana effectively if re-elected, stressing that his leadership is crucial at this defining moment for the country.

He also rallied support for Ida Adjoa Asiedu, the NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate for the Constituency, urging voters to ensure her victory and bring the Ayensuano seat back to the party.

Looking ahead to the elections, Dr. Prempeh encouraged Ghanaians to compare the track records of the two main political parties, the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He noted that both parties have had their turn in government, making it essential for voters to assess their respective achievements before casting their ballots.

In comparing the two parties, Dr. Prempeh criticized the NDC’s record under former President John Dramani Mahama, arguing that his administration failed to achieve meaningful progress for the country.

He highlighted the NPP's social intervention policies, such as the Capitation Grant and the School Feeding Programme which have had a direct impact on improving the lives of Ghanaians.

Mr. Kennedy Agyapong, a senior NPP figure, also spoke at the event, calling for unity within the Constituency to ensure the return of the Parliamentary seat to the NPP.

He praised the work of former MP Mr Ayeh-Paye and urged the people to rally behind Ida Adjoa Asiedu to continue the party’s development efforts in the area.

Campaign aides Dr. Kwabena Kokofu, the parliamentary candidate Ida Asiedu, and former MP Mr. Ayeh-Paye also addressed the gathering, echoing the call for hard work and unity to secure victory in the upcoming elections.
