Mahama’s commitment to 60 ministers shows he’s a promise keeper - Kwame Agbodza

Roads and Highways Minister-designate, Kwame Agbodza, has praised President John Dramani Mahama for his commitment to limiting the number of ministers in his administration to 60, highlighting the move as a means to reduce wasteful public expenditure.
During his vetting by the Appointments Committee on Monday, January 20, Agbodza emphasised that Mahama's decision to stick to this pledge, including Deputy Ministers and Regional Ministers, demonstrates his dedication to keeping his promises.
Mr Agbodza described Mahama as a "man of his word," noting that many doubted a president would maintain such a limit on the number of ministers.
The Adaklu lawmaker also pointed out that this step was a positive example of fiscal responsibility, reinforcing the President’s focus on ensuring a leaner and more efficient government.
This approach, according to the nominee aligns with Mahama's broader agenda of cutting waste and prioritising effective governance.
"The fact that President Mahama is insisting on having only 60 ministers, is one of the ways to cut waste in public expenditure. Nobody thought that a president would insist on having 60 ministers including Deputy Ministers and Regional Ministers and he is doing. He’s a man of his word.
