John Boadu congratulates Opoku Prempeh on his selection as running mate
Mr John Boadu, the Director-General of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA), has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh on his selection as the running mate to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the NPP's ticket in the upcoming December 7, 2024 elections.
Mr Boadu, a former General Secretary of the NPP noted that Mr Opoku Prempeh was chosen from a pool of qualified and capable candidates, underscoring the trust and expectations vested in him.
This selection comes at a crucial time when Ghana and the global community are grappling with significant economic challenges, including high inflation rates, currency depreciation, fiscal deficits, debt levels, and unemployment.
Drawing parallels to global scenarios, Mr Boadu mentioned the recent leadership changes in countries like the UK, Kenya, and South Africa, where new leaders have been elected to implement comprehensive policy measures to tackle economic issues.
He emphasized that Ghana currently lacks a viable alternative with such pragmatic solutions, reaffirming the belief that Dr. Bawumia remains the only candidate with the economic expertise to address these pressing issues.
Mr Boadu outlined the policies needed to overcome these challenges, including fiscal consolidation, economic diversification, improving the business environment, and enhancing social protection.
In a statement Mr Boadu emphasized the crucial role Mr Opoku Prempeh will play in highlighting the key progress achieved by the government in various state entities, even amid challenging times.
The NPP government, according to Mr Boadu, is well-prepared to address these challenges and make Ghana a better place to live.
He expressed his full support and best wishes for a successful campaign, hoping that Mr Opoku Prempeh’s efforts will inspire and unite all Ghanaians towards a brighter and more prosperous future.
