One of the aspirants jostling for the position of a presidential candidate on the ticket of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ernest Kweku Kobeah, has pledged to support whoever wins the NDC’s presidential primary for the 2024 general elections.

According to him, his decision to support whoever wins the May 13, 2023 presidential primary is to ensure a new Ghana is built with the NDC at the helm of affairs.

Mr Kobeah is expected to battle it out with former president John Dramani Mahama, Dr Kwabena Duffour and Mr Kojo Bonsu in the NDC presidential primary.

“Whether I lose or get disqualified at the vetting or elected I’m still a member of the NDC first and I will continue to remain a member of the party.

“I have been part of the party since my childhood at Mampong in the Ashanti Region,” the businessman said.

Mr Kobeah made this pledge while speaking in an interview on the Ghana Yensom morning show hosted by Odehyeeba Kofi Essuman on Accra 100.5 FM on Monday, March 27, 2023.

He was of the view that NDC through the late president Jerry John Rawlings built the first phase of the country by giving Ghanaians democracy.

“It is because of this democracy [that] we all here speaking and talking about how to make the country better,” he said.

“And the second phase is to build the economy of the country to create opportunities for the teeming unemployed youth,” he indicated.

He called for Ghanaians to stop the blame-game and put their hands on the wheel.

“There is a need to build the country to create a better future for the youth,” he assured.

“As president, I will stop the importation of almost everything into the country and focus on manufacturing to build the economy of the country,” he added
