In a recent announcement, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has revealed the appointment of the Director General of the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr Patrick Kuma Aboagye to lead its vetting committee for the Western North Region. 

The committee's primary responsibility will be to vet parliamentary aspirants seeking to contest sitting Members of Parliament (MPs) on the party's ticket in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

The decision was communicated through an official statement signed by the General Secretary of the NPP. 

In a strategic move, the party has entrusted the vetting process to the Director General of the Ghana Health Service, recognizing the individual's expertise and leadership qualities.

The statement emphasized the importance of a thorough vetting process to ensure that candidates aligned with the party's principles and objectives are selected to represent the NPP in the parliamentary elections.

CONDUCT OF PARLIAMENTARY PRIMARIES

The New Patriotic Party is pleased to announce the constitution of committees to supervise the vetting of Parliamentary Aspirants in constituencies with incumbent Members of Parliament. The vetting of Aspiring Parliamentary Candidates shall be held at all regional capitals from Wednesday January 3, 2024 to Friday January 5, 2024.

Regional Executive Committees are hereby directed to communicate to their respective Constituencies and Aspiring Parliamentary Candidates the date, time and venue for the vetting.
