The Krontihene of Akyem Asoum, Nana Boadi Amponim Abodade III, has criticised the Akufo-Addo-led administration, accusing it of plunging Ghana into a state of mismanagement and suffering.

In an interview, Nana Abodade, described the nation as being stripped of its resources and left in distress

“Ghana has been stripped naked; mother Ghana is bleeding,” he lamented, calling for urgent measures to rescue and restore the country.

He likened Ghana’s plight to the biblical parable of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:29, highlighting the need for redemption and the recovery of lost resources.

“The robbers have stolen all the goodies. But a Good Samaritan has come to rescue her, put her in a healthy and happy situation, and recover the loot that the robbers took,” Nana Abodade said.

The chief expressed hope in former President John Mahama’s potential return to power, describing it as a divine opportunity to steer the country back on track.

“We thank God that the good Lord is about to give the mantle to President John Mahama,” he stated, adding that Mahama’s leadership could resolve the governance challenges Ghana currently faces.

Reflecting on President Akufo-Addo’s tenure, Nana Abodade III criticised the administration’s failure to utilise the significant revenues at its disposal effectively.

“He had so much revenue, so much he could have done for this country, but he failed,” the chief stated.

He further revealed that his dissatisfaction with the current administration is echoed by other traditional leaders, pointing to concerns about the President’s legacy.

“A good friend of mine, who is also a chief, told me once, ‘Let’s see if he will come around and instruct chiefs to wake up to greet him.’ It’s not a good legacy,” Nana Abodade stated.

Looking to the future, the chief expressed hope for improved governance and a departure from the challenges of the current administration.

“We pray we don’t get another Akufo-Addo to be president of Ghana,” he added.

The Chief was speaking in an interview with GHOne TV.
