Roads Minister orders commencement of works on Ashaiman-Afienya and Tema Motorway-Dawhenya stretches

Roads Minister, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has directed two local contractors, First Sky and Ozwald Investments Limited, to mobilise immediately and commence road construction on the Ashaiman-Afienya stretch and the Tema Motorway to Dawhenya stretch.
The directive is aimed at addressing the deteriorating state of these key routes and easing the burden on commuters.
The decision is expected to bring much-needed relief to road users who endure prolonged hours in traffic due t,o the poor condition of these roads.
The Ashaiman-Afienya and Tema Motorway-Dawhenya stretches serve as critical transport links, and their rehabilitation is seen as a priority for enhancing mobility and reducing travel delays.
During an emergency inspection of the affected roads, Kwame Governs Agbodza emphasised the government’s commitment to ensuring road safety and improving infrastructure.
He described the state of the roads as a pressing human security concern that required urgent intervention.
The Minister commended the two contractors for their commitment to delivering quality work despite ongoing challenges within the road sector.
He expressed confidence in their ability to complete the remedial works efficiently, ensuring that road users experience improved conditions as soon as possible.
Kwame Governs Agbodza, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Adaklu, assured the public that the government remains dedicated to addressing infrastructure issues nationwide.
He urged the contractors to expedite their work to minimise disruptions and enhance travel convenience for all road users
