President Mahama warns Muslim youth against reckless driving during Eid-ul-Fitr

President John Dramani Mahama has issued a stern warning to Muslim youth against engaging in reckless driving and motorcycle riding during the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.
Speaking at an event organized by the National Chief Imam at the Black Star Square in Accra, President Mahama stressed that such dangerous behaviours often lead to unnecessary loss of lives.
He emphasized that while Eid-ul-Fitr is a period of unity and joy, it should not be marred by actions that put lives at risk.
“Ramadan is a period of togetherness, not recklessness,” the President stated, urging young people to celebrate responsibly and avoid endangering themselves and others.
To address the issue, President Mahama announced that he had instructed the police to be vigilant and take strict action against offenders.
He highlighted that in previous years, reckless riding of motorbikes and driving during Ramadan festivities had led to tragic accidents.
“I urge our brothers who engage in this to stop,” he cautioned, adding, “I have asked the police to deal with you if you flout this, and you will be arrested.”
