Police officers withdraw lawsuit against IGP over transfer directive
Ten police officers who had filed a lawsuit to challenge their transfers by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) have formally withdrawn the case, though they retain the right to reapply in the future if necessary.
The officers, led by Sergeant David Ojeyim, initially sought a court order to block the transfers, arguing that the directive was arbitrary, lacked justification, and undermined their professional stability.
They contended that the decision did not adhere to standard administrative procedures within the police service.
The group includes Sergeant Prince Owusu Fayosey, Sergeant Seidu Essilfie, Sergeant Alex Abah, Corporal John Yao Adzimagbor, Corporal Michael Kwasi Avuyi, Corporal Huudu Muhammed Wumbe, Corporal Kabiru Mohammed, Corporal Hannah Antwi-Boasiako, and IC/Inspector Alexander Odoi.
Collectively, they raised concerns over the transparency and fairness of the transfer process, calling for greater accountability from the Police Administration.
