My roads record 'unmatched' – Ga West MCE
The Municipal Chief Executive Officer (MCE) for Ga West Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra Region, Mr Clement Wilkinson, has patted himself on the back, saying one of the legacies he would leave behind for the chiefs and people of Ga West is good roads.
According to him, under his administration as MCE, many of the dilapidated roads in the area have been tarred.
He said the latest road that has seen a facelift is the 8 km Sarpeiman road.
He said six km of the said road has been asphalted, bringing reprieve to residents in the area.
Mr Wilkinson boasted about his achievements while reacting to the concerns of the residents of Blessed City, Virgin Land and New Canada all in the Sarpeiman area.
The area has not been connected to the national grid for two years after electric poles were made available there.
Speaking on Accra100.5FM's morning show Ghana Yensom hosted by Odehyeeba Kofi Essuman on Accra 100.5 FM on Thursday, April 13, 2024, Mr Wilkinson noted that the Ofankor-Amassaman-Nsawam dualisation is also vigorously taking shape in the area.
He added that residents around the project can see the benefits that have led to the ease of traffic on that stretch.
"When it comes to road construction in the area, I am at level 700," he remarked, adding that his track record in roads for the people of the area is "unmatched."
Touching on the lack of electricity, he chastised the management of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) for “intentionally” delaying projects that will bring reprieve to residents especially those living in the peri-urban areas of Accra.
He was quick to add that many of these situations arose because the chiefs sold the land for development before the attention of the Assembly was drawn to provide some of these social amenities to residents.
He assured the people that steps will be taken to have their issues addressed.
