Lordina Mahama supports Nkoranza North female artisans
In a significant boost to the informal sector, former First Lady Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama has donated essential equipment to hairdressers and dressmakers in Busunya, a community in the Nkoranza North Constituency of the Bono East Region.
This donation, made under the auspices of the Lordina Foundation, includes 120 sewing machines, 100 hair dryers, and various accessories, aimed at assisting both newly graduated apprentices and experienced craftswomen who train young girls in the district.
During the donation ceremony, Mrs. Mahama stressed the importance of dedication and professionalism in their careers.
She advised the beneficiaries to avoid procrastination and to commit to meeting customer deadlines, emphasizing that quality customer service is crucial for retaining existing clients and attracting new ones.
Reaffirming her husband’s commitment, Mrs. Mahama highlighted the transformative Free Apprenticeship Programme proposed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flag bearer.
This initiative aims to support both apprentices and their mentors by providing them with the necessary tools and capital to establish their businesses upon completion of their training.
She underscored the programme’s potential to secure a brighter future for these artisans, bringing hope to the community.
Mrs. Mahama recognized the essential role artisans play in the country’s economy, assuring that her husband, if elected, would create an environment conducive to the thriving of their businesses.
She emphasized that supporting artisans and apprentices is crucial for the growth and success of businesses in this sector, contributing significantly to the country’s overall economic development.
In addition to the equipment donation, Mrs. Mahama also presented items to 300 widows in the constituency, further extending her support to the community
