Election 2024: Bawumia settles on Mathew Opoku Prempeh as running mate
Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has chosen Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the current Energy Minister and Member of Parliament for Manhyia South Constituency in the Ashanti Region, as his running mate for the upcoming presidential election on December 7.
According to information from the seat of government, Dr Bawumia presented his selection to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during a meeting last night, Tuesday, June 26, 2024, at the Jubilee House.
The president offered his advice and accepted Dr Bawumia’s choice.
An official announcement is expected later this week.
Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh is a 56-year-old medical doctor who previously served as education minister.
