George Ayisi commends Mahama for Obeng -Kenzo’s appointment as Acting CEO of VRA

Mr George Ayisi, the former Public Relations Officer of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and a member of the opposition New Patriotic Party's (NPP) communications team has lauded President John Mahama's decision to appoint Ing. Edward Ekow Obeng-Kenzo as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Volta River Authority (VRA).
Reflecting on their collaborative efforts during the Akosombo Dam spillage, Mr Ayisi expressed unwavering confidence in Obeng-Kenzo's competence and capabilities.
He described him as a hardworking and intelligent professional poised to transform the VRA.
"When I heard the announcement, I was happy for him," Mr Ayisi remarked, highlighting Obeng-Kenzo's dedication and impartiality throughout his career.
Addressing concerns from a minority of VRA staff opposing the appointment, Mr Ayisi dismissed their reservations, emphasizing Obeng-Kenzo's expertise and commitment to his role.
He said the massive endorsement from stakeholders underscores the broad support for Obeng-Kenzo's leadership within the VRA.
He made this comment while speaking as a panelist on Accra-based Kessben FM on Monday, February 24, 2025.
