GA/R: Vivo Energy enhances hygiene at La Enobal School
Vivo Energy Ghana, a leading energy solutions provider, has opened a newly renovated washroom facility for La Enobal Basic School in the La Dade-Kotopon Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
The project, undertaken in collaboration with United Way Ghana, aims to improve sanitation and hygiene standards for the school community, creating a more conducive environment for learning and well-being.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Kilai Muasya, Finance Manager of Vivo Energy Ghana, emphasized the company’s commitment to addressing the social and developmental needs of the communities it serves.
“Respect is earned not only by delivering excellence in our industry but also by addressing the needs of the people we serve,” he said.
The renovation included the conversion of pit latrines to modern water closets, the installation of urinal bowls, handwashing basins, and a dedicated washroom for teachers.
Additionally, a 2,500-litre overhead water tank was installed to ensure a regular water supply, alongside exterior beautification works.
Muasya highlighted the project’s alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal Six (SDG 6), which focuses on access to clean water and sanitation for all.
He noted that proper hygiene facilities are essential for improving health outcomes and ensuring uninterrupted education, particularly for girls.
Muasya encouraged stakeholders to take ownership of the facility, ensuring its maintenance for future generations.
The Municipal Director of Education, representatives from the La Traditional Council, and staff of La Enobal Basic School lauded Vivo Energy Ghana for the impactful initiative.
