Energy Minister meets with Bridge Power Co. Ltd over shutdown of operations due to ECG’s $47M debt

The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor on Tuesday, March 4, met with operators of Bridge Power Co. Limited.
following the decision of the latter to shut down its operations due to the non-payment of supply arrears totalling $47 m owed to EPL for 7 months of operations.
The shutdown has resulted in the curtailment of 200MW of power supply into the national grid, adversely affecting an already fragile power supply system.
Mr. Jinapor assured EPL of the government's commitment to resolving the financial challenges confronting the sector.
To this end, the Minister has directed EPL to be included in TIER 1 power-producing companies aimed at ensuring significant payments to the company.
