C’ttee on roads and transport inspects Kasoa-Winneba and Adenta-Dodowa roads
The Committee on Roads and Transportation has paid a working visit to the rehabilitation and upgrading site at the Kasoa-Winneba stretch of Central Region.
The delegation was led by the Chairman of the Committee Kennedy Osei Nyarko, MP for Akim Swedru in the Eastern Region.
The Project Manager of the Contraction Company, MM Delovely Company Limited, ING. Stephen Tawiah in his presentation to the Committee said, the project was commissioned on the 29th of March 2024 and it is expected to be completed in 36 months.
He added that, the project which is being executed by a Ghanaian Contraction Company is fully funded by the Government of Ghana through the Ministry of Roads and Highways.
The Chief Director of the Ministry of Roads and Highways, ING. Dr. Abass Awolu made the point that individuals who are affected by the project had been evaluated and be compensated.
The Committee also moved to the Adenta-Dodowa Road to inspect the Design Build Dualisation Adenta-Dodowa Road (R40)-22km.
The Director of Projects of Oswal Investment Limited, Ing. Rosby Kone-Mensah said the project had progressed steadily.
He added that the Company has successfully removed and demolished temporal structures and replaced all roadside drains.
He added that despite challenges faced by the company by the encroached properties within the reservation, they are progressing with the work.
Mr Osei Nyarko expressed satisfaction of the two projects.
He advised the contractors to speed up the work so as to ease the traffic congestion.
He also urged Government to pay all outstanding compensation to affected persons to avoid litigation.
