Asiedu Nketia assures Okada riders of support under next NDC administration
The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has assured operators of motorcycles, tricycles, and other small vehicles, including okada and Pragia riders, of comprehensive support and regulation under a future NDC government.
Speaking during a community engagement in Fiapre, a suburb of the Sunyani West Constituency, Mr. Asiedu Nketia emphasized the party’s commitment to implementing measures that will streamline their operations while ensuring public safety.
He explained that the NDC's manifesto includes detailed plans to regulate the activities of riders through proper licensing and enforcement of rules and regulations to facilitate smooth and lawful operations.
Addressing artisans, hairdressers, and riders, the Chairman reiterated the NDC’s dedication to improving livelihoods.
He highlighted the party’s plan to make apprenticeship programmes a national priority, akin to the free education policy.
He assured that an NDC government would cover the costs for individuals seeking to learn trades and provide them with the necessary support to establish themselves upon completing their training.
"The government must prioritize apprenticeship programmes just like free education.
This is what the NDC stands for," he stated.
Chairman Asiedu Nketia urged okada and Pragia riders to help spread the NDC’s message of hope and development, noting that their work would be made easier under an administration committed to legalizing and supporting their operations.
