Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei-Mensah has asserted President Nana Akufo-Addo is peerless in the fourth republic when it comes to infrastructural development across sectors.

He spoke when he took the media on a tour of "the infrastructural projects we’ve done in various sectors of the economy from 2017 up to September 30, 2024".

Mr Osei-Mensah said: "There’s no doubt this government, led by his H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo with the support of his Vice President, Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, has done excellently well."

"I don’t think any government under the 1992 Constitution or democratic dispensation has outperformed what the Nana Addo government has done," he explained.

"Former President J.A. Kuffour did a lot but I’m sure Nana Addo government has done more," he doubled down.

He said he was not surprised because "they all worked with President Kuffour and learned from him, and his strengths and weaknesses".

He highlighted the 250-bed Sewua Regional Hospital and 500-bed Afari Military Hospital were ready for commissioning.

However, he said the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) Maternity & Children's Block and the Kumasi Central Market Redevelopment projects would most likely be done in 2025.

Meanwhile, Mr Osei-Mensah mentioned, Akufo-Addo had “constructed 2,145km of road, asphalt and bitumen surface double seal” and “it’s not easy” to accomplish such a feat “in let’s say eight years”.

"This government has done very well in every sector you can consider," he emphasised.
