NDC to Asante: Punish the NPP for not taking development seriously in your region

The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has urged the people of the Ashanti Region to change their voting patterns and support a development-oriented political party.
During his campaign tour in the Ashanti Region, he spoke in Amoakokrom and Ahwerewa in the Ahafo Ano South East Constituency, where he highlighted many residents tend to vote for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) simply because they were born into the tradition.
However, Asiedu Nketia pointed out this voting trend had led to a lack of development in the region, as the NPP knows they will always receive votes regardless of their commitment to development.
He specifically mentioned the Amoakokrom electrification project, which was initiated by the NDC but abandoned when the NPP came to power in 2021, despite their nearly-eight-year governance.
Asiedu Nketia emphasised the NPP does not prioritise the development of the Ashanti region, and encouraged the people to move away from the mindset of "I was born into the NPP" and to vote for the NDC, a party focused on development.
He also reminded the voters not to be swayed by the NPP into accepting money or gifts, such as weedicides, food spices, and cutlasses, in exchange for their votes, urging them to vote based on the party's commitment to development.
