Louisa Atta-Agyeman chairs centre-right DUA
The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has congratulated Ms Louisa Atta-Agyemang on her election as Chairperson of the Democrat Union of Africa (DUA) at the organisation’s ongoing Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
‘’We recognize that this was a hard-fought election, and to emerge victorious says a lot about Louisa’s strength and resilience,” the party noted.
The message to congratulate her on chairing DUA was dated Thursday, November 10, 2022, and signed by the Director of International Relations of the party, Frederick Kofi Ameyaw.
“We also commend the delegates of the Democrat Union of Africa (DUA) for eschewing patriarchy in favour of visionary and progressive leadership.
“We are confident in your resolve to create a new era of solidarity among African centre-right parties and mutually beneficial partnerships with our allies,” the party further said.
In the statement, the NPP said it does not doubt the capacity of the chairperson to deliver owing to the significant successes she has chalked in her brief but impactful tenure of office as President of the Young Democrat Union of Africa.
“We are confident you will remain an excellent ambassador of Africa, the Democrat Union of Africa and the New Patriotic Party in your new role,” it noted.
The statement urged all member political parties to rally behind the new chairperson and support her vision to implement sweeping changes in DUA to make it a force to reckon with in Africa and globally.
“As you enter the great office of Chairperson of DUA, we want to extend our very best wishes for success to you and your board.
“We are certain that your presence will greatly strengthen the ties in our fraternity,” the statement concluded
