Dec. 7 polls: New Force, Cheddar acknowledge EC ballot clearing for presidential race
The New Force, led by founder Nana Kwame Bediako, alias Freedom Jacob Caesar and Cheddar, has acknowledged the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana for greenlighting their participation in the 2024 elections.
Ghana goes to the polls to choose parliamentary representatives and a new president on Saturday, December 7.
As an independent candidate, businessman-turned-politician Cheddar marks his debut on the ballot this year.
In a statement dated Friday, September 20, and signed by its Chief Administrator, Charles Yomekpe, the New Force extended "our heartfelt gratitude to the Electoral Commission for their commitment to upholding the principles of peace, democracy, and fairness".
"By maintaining the intergrity of the electoral process, the Commission has once again proven its dedication to the value that bind our society together," the statement emphasised.
The New Force also underlined "that our visionary leader, Nana Kwame Bediako, is officially a candidate for the December 2024 Presidential Elections".
"This monumental achievement marks the beginning of a new era for Ghana, one driven by modern governance, innovation, and transformative leadership," the New Force declared.
