President John Dramani Mahama is set to “pay a solidarity visit to the communities of Amutinu, Agavedzi, Salakope, and its environs in the Ketu South Constituency”.

The visit, according to a Volta Regional Secretariat statement, will take place “on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at exactly 2 PM.

“This visit is a demonstration of the President’s commitment to standing in solidarity with Ghanaians affected by natural disasters.”

Signed by Bright Kwashie Ege, the NDC Volta Regional Secretary, the statement continued, “During his visit, President Mahama will interact with the affected communities, assess the extent of the damage, and offer support to those affected.

“The President’s visit is also an opportunity to reaffirm the government’s commitment to finding lasting solutions to the challenges posed by the tidal waves in the region.

“The government will work closely with local authorities, stakeholders, and the affected communities to develop a workable plan and implement effective measures to mitigate the impact of future tidal eaves.”
