Dancehall and Afrobeats star Shatta Wale has reacted to rumours rap star Black Sherif dissed him on the latter's latest song Where Dem Boyz.

The song is the 10th on Sherif's second album called Iron Boy. On the scathing song, the singing rapper rebukes an individual once a "messiah" who had now "become bitter". He said the unnamed fellow "cries over gatekeepers" but practices the same diabolical things they denounce. 

"On interviews, he preaches unity but hides behind boys to spread hate," Sherif went on, having prayed: "God forbid dreams to be like you."

Some fans on social media have strongly opined these lines were describing the moment from 2024 when Shatta Wale took issues with Black Sherif's wardrobe choices. When the latter later shared an image of Wale dressed shabily, the Dancehall act threatened to end the rapper's career.

Responding to this, Shatta Wale surprisingly ignored the addressing the rumour and rather congratulated Sherif on the release of his new album. He indicated since he was not named in the song, he was not going to regard it as an attack aimed at him when he was busy being "bank-minded". He recognised Iron Boy as a "masterpiece" from a "lil one" and encouraged Sherif to focus on making money. He shared North American tour venues and dates for Black Sherif following the release of his new tape.

"If you follow Ghanaians, you will even think God is your enemy [laugh, cry emoji] Congrats on this masterpiece lil one. Go hard and don't stop," Shatta Wale said on X.

"I never hear[d] you say Shatta Wale this, Shatta that, but as usual those unemployed Ghanaians are trying to push an agenda [laugh, cry emojis]. 

"I am too bank-minded for nonsense. Just fo your thing my G!!! SM4LYF.

"Let's make the kwacha hard in their faces [laugh, cry emojis]. Who loses now? [laugh, cry emojis].

"#IronBoyAlbum [explosion emojis]."

The reaction shocked some social media users who appeared to have expected Wale to take offense at the song and its alleged meaning. When Wale refused to accept the interpretation being given the song, he was asked why someone who had recently identified himself as a formidable principality was behaving as the biblical angel Gabriel.
