Nathaniel Bassey, by “way of instruction,” has asked Ghanaian Gospel musicians to pen “more songs in English”.

The Nigerian Gospel star said this was of utmost importance because “the world needs to hear your songs”.

He suggested that Ghanaian Gospel musicians are absolutely gifted in their craft but unfortunately, were limited on the international scene because of their preference for Ghanaian languages and dialects.

Bassey, a singer-songwriter, trumpeter and pastor spoke in a rapturous moment of prayer, while performing at the Jesus Christ Encounter programme at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The serial hitmaker also noted, he could see more and more oil finds in Ghana and again, plenty industry leaders.

“I see new oil fields in Ghana, I see new oil fields.

“Can I prophesy that in the next four to five years, psalmists from Ghana will come to Nigeria and do the same thing, that your songs will rise from Ghana to the nations of the earth.

“As a way of instruction, can I plead with Ghanaian music ministers to write more songs in English? I know you love Twi, I know you love your language, but there is an anointing on you and the world needs to hear your songs

“Do we agree, that a river is flowing from Ghana, to the nations of the earth?

“And I blow my trumpet, let the fountains of the deep to broken, let psalmists arise, let apostles, let scientists arise, let engineers arise…,” the See What the Lord Has Done hitmaker proclaimed before blowing his trumpet in front of a charged audience of Christian worshippers.
