Dec. 7 polls: Consider your circumstances, vote to discipline failed leaders – Sonnie Badu
Sonnie Badu has asked Ghanaians to “cast a vote for Ghana” come Saturday, December 7.
“Ghana must win,” he explained, speaking to Nana Romeo on Accra 100.5 FM’s Ayekoo Ayekoo.
“If you’re happy, vote. If you not, vote. Consider your circumstances and vote,” the star musician said.
The Rock Hill Church founder and leader noted the candidates alone knew in their heart of hearts what their true intentions were for Ghana and its citizens.
To protect one’s electoral integrity, however, he admonished the electorate against succumbing to vote-buying schemes like the sharing of foodstuffs.
“Don’t let someone deceive you with gari, rice, yam, so you throw away your precious vote,” he said.
“The only time you have power is now [during the election period] and it’s shown by politicians visiting and mingling with you in towns and villages as if they can relate with your circumstances,” he asserted. “When they get power, they will never come back.”
With this in mind, Sonnie Badu encouraged voters to “discipline” politicians who have failed them.
He emphasised he would not dictate who should be supported by Ghanaians or who would win at the polls.
“I’m only sharing my principles,” he noted, in conclusion.
