Avoid dialing *31# for free unlimited calls; it’s fake – MTN

MTN has said any social media post to the effect that the telecommunication company is giving subscribers free unlimited calls by dialling *31# is ‘fake’ and should be discarded.
“Customers are advised to disregard this post and note that this information is false and not from MTN,” the company said in a statement.
MTN cautioned that dialling *31# “will block your ability to make any voice calls”.
For customers who have “mistakenly” activated the shortcode, MTN advised that they dial #31# to reverse the process.
