Inaki Williams makes history equaling Athletic Bilbao assist record
Ghanaian international footballer Inaki Williams has made history at Athletic Bilbao providing three assists resulting in goals.
This happened on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
The last time a player achieved the feat was in 2005 when Fran Yeste provided three assists in an Athletic Bilbao match against Real Betis.
In the 7th minute, on Sunday, striker Inaki Williams set up midfielder Oihan Sancet for Bilbao’s first goal of their match against Las Palmas.
Over the 27th minute, Inaki helped his brother Nico Williams with another goal-producing assist.
In the 75th minute, Inaki Williams concluded his treble assist when he teamed up with Aitor Paredes to secure another goal, bringing the final score line to a 3-2 away triumph over Las Palmas.
On X, Athletic Bilbao celebrated Inaki, thus: "The gift that keeps on giving [gift box emoji]. @Williaaams45 registered all three assists in #LasPalmasAthletic today."
Inaki Williams was part of the Otto Addo-led Ghana Black Stars 26-man squad at the Qatar FIFA World Cup 2022. He joined the team to the 2023 Cote d'Ivoire African Cup of Nations (AFCON), also.
