The race for District Chief Executive (DCE) in Upper Manya Krobo is intensifying, and the Zongo community has made its stance unmistakably clear—it’s Mohammed Ibrahim or nothing!

In a powerful display of unity, 32 Zongo Caucus Coordinators from the Eastern Region have thrown their full support behind Ibrahim, declaring him the best candidate for the job.

During a high-level meeting on January 23, 2025, at the residence of the Regional Minister, they delivered a direct appeal to President John Dramani Mahama, emphasizing that Ibrahim’s appointment would reaffirm the government’s commitment to inclusive governance and equitable representation.

"Out of 99 candidates, only one stands tall – and that’s Mohammed Ibrahim," their resolution boldly declared.

Mohammed Ibrahim is a seasoned grassroots leader with an impressive track record within the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

As the Zongo Caucus Coordinator for Upper Manya Krobo, he has played a pivotal role in fostering unity, strengthening party structures, and driving development in the district.

His contributions go beyond politics.

As a Research Assistant to the MP for Upper Manya Krobo, he played a critical role in securing funding for key development projects, ensuring that the district received its fair share of national resources.

During NDC campaigns, he has provided financial, material, and logistical support, proving his unwavering dedication to the party’s success.

Ibrahim’s influence extends beyond Upper Manya Krobo.

In Akwatia, he was instrumental in reinforcing party structures and strengthening NDC’s dominance, further demonstrating his ability to deliver tangible results.

For years, Zongo communities have been a stronghold for the NDC, delivering crucial votes in every election.

Now, they are demanding more than just appreciation—they want action.

"We’ve been loyal. We’ve delivered votes. Now, it’s time the party delivers for us," the Coordinators insisted.

They argue that appointing Ibrahim is not only a just decision but also a strategic one.

His unwavering support for Mahama’s transformational 24-Hour Economy policy proves that he is aligned with the party’s vision and ready to implement policies that will drive economic growth.

As the final list of DCE appointments takes shape, all eyes are on President John Dramani Mahama.

The Zongo Coordinators have made their demands clear, and pressure is mounting for the government to recognize their contributions by appointing Mohammed Ibrahim.

Their message is simple: "Appointing Mohammed Ibrahim is not just about fairness – it’s about proving that loyalty pays."

Will Mahama heed the call? The decision is his to make—but the Zongo community is watching closely.
