Parliamentary hopeful for the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency in the Eastern Region, under the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Hayford Siaw, has urged calm among his supporters despite alleged provocations from the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Mr Frank Annoh-Dompreh, who also serves as the Majority Chief Whip.
Mr Siaw emphasised the importance of unity within the party, stressing that the primary goal is to break the eight-year political jinx and secure victory for the next government.
Mr Siaw called for calm speaking in an interview on the Ghana Yensom morning show hosted by Odehyeeba Kofi Essuman on Accra 100.5 FM on Thursday, January 18, 2024.
He acknowledged videos circulating on social media showing MP Annoh-Dompreh and his supporters allegedly defacing and removing his posters. He, however, called for supporters to maintain good behaviour – conducting a clean campaign – during and after the parliamentary primaries on January 27, 2024.
“It is important that we stay united ahead of the primary which has proven to be one of the primaries fiercely contested in the area,” he concluded.
