The Office of the President has formally denied granting any presidential pardons, dismissing earlier reports that claimed ten convicted individuals had been granted clemency.

In a statement signed by the Director of Communications, Eugene Arhin, the Presidency refuted the claims, labelling them as false and urging the public to disregard such misinformation.

"The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has not granted any pardons," the statement clarified, emphasizing that no such decision had been made or communicated.

This clarification follows the circulation of a document purportedly from the Presidency, which listed individuals allegedly pardoned.

Among those named were Ato Essien, former CEO of the defunct Capital Bank; Philip Assibit, linked to financial crimes involving GYEEDA; and others convicted of offences such as narcotics possession and human trafficking.

The Office of the President reiterated its commitment to transparency and urged the public to rely only on verified information from official channels.
