Opoku-Agyemang takes NDC campaign to GAR markets on Thursday
The running mate of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, is set to embark on a one-day tour of three major markets in Accra on Thursday.
The tour will take her to the Mallam Atta, Kaneshie, and Makola markets, where she will engage with market women, traders, shop attendants, shoppers, kayayei, commercial drivers, and passengers.
During her visit, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang will outline the NDC’s financial empowerment policies for women, with a focus on the proposed establishment of a Women’s Development Bank.
This initiative aims to provide financial support to about one million women in various businesses, including food vendors, market women, bakers, hairdressers, and dressmakers, offering them access to loans with flexible payment terms.
The tour underscores the NDC’s commitment to enhancing the economic empowerment of women as a key component of its broader development agenda.
The announcement was made by James Agyenim-Boateng, spokesperson for the NDC campaign
