NPP assures Ghanaians of economic recovery amid global challenges
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has assured Ghanaians that it is committed to overcoming the current economic challenges facing the country.
According to the NPP, global factors such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict have contributed to the difficulties, but the government is making concerted efforts to alleviate the impact.
Mr. Kofi Tonto, an aide to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, made these remarks during an interview on the Ghana Yensom morning show on Accra 100.5 FM on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
Speaking with co-hosts Otafrigya Kwesi Appea-Apreku and Odhyeeba Kofi Essuman, Mr. Tonto emphasized the NPP’s awareness of the hardships Ghanaians face and its determination to bring relief.
“As a party in government, we are aware of these challenges and are working hard to bring reprieve to every Ghanaian,” he stated, commending Dr. Bawumia’s leadership for steering the nation through trying times.
Mr. Tonto highlighted that the current economic management aligns with Dr. Bawumia’s vision, under which the economy is set to stabilize and position itself for growth.
He argued that the country’s situation could have been worse without the NPP’s leadership, crediting the government’s Free SHS policy as a pivotal support for families and a reason many parents are actively supporting the party’s campaign.
Underlining the government's resilience and dedication, Mr. Tonto expressed optimism that the NPP will continue to deliver solutions to improve the lives of all Ghanaians.
