NDC supporters laud Eric Ahinakwa for gains in Asene-Akroso-Manso Constituency

Supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Asene -Akroso- Manso Constituency of the Eastern Region have commended their Parliamentary Candidate, Mr. Eric Ahinakwa, for the party’s impressive performance in the December 7 general elections.
Residents credit Mr. Ahinakwa’s strategic campaign efforts for enhancing the party’s appeal in the Constituency, which has traditionally been a stronghold of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Isaac Mensah, a spokesperson for the residents, expressed admiration for Mr. Ahinakwa's growing influence in local politics. Speaking to Classfmonline.com, he said:
“Mr. Eric Ahinakwa is a force to reckon with in Asene Akroso politics.
His campaign strategies have significantly improved the NDC’s standing in a Constituency historically dominated by the NPP.”
In the 2020 general elections, Mr. Ahinakwa garnered 9,720 votes (20.01%) as the NDC candidate, compared to the NPP’s George Kwame Aboagye, who secured 19,175 votes (57.24%).
However, the 2024 elections saw a remarkable improvement for Mr. Ahinakwa and the NDC.
The NPP’s George Kwame Aboagye won with 15,792 votes (54.20%), but Mr. Ahinakwa closed the gap significantly by polling 13,678 votes (45.30%).
Mr Abrakwa highlighted these figures as evidence of Mr. Ahinakwa's political prowess and ability to challenge the NPP in its stronghold.
“These results show that Mr. Ahinakwa is no ordinary politician.
He is making remarkable inroads, and his efforts are reshaping the political landscape in the Constituency,” he said.
He urged the NDC leadership to recognize and safeguard Mr. Ahinakwa’s achievements to solidify and expand the party’s influence in the Asene- Akroso-Manso Constituency.
